Cuir Gear exists because I couldn't find what I was looking for. The fit wasn't there. The quality wasn't there. So I learned the craft, and now I make it for people who expect and want the same.
THE
STORY
I'm Kelly — founder of Cuir Gear and a member of Portland's leather and kink community for the last 35 years. Cuir is the French word for leather, and it's been the through-line of my life since the early '90s, when I earned the titles of Mr. Portland Leather 1992 and Mr. NLA Portland 1994.
I started making gear for myself because nothing on the market fit the way I wanted it to — or looked the way I imagined. What began as building for myself quickly spread through the community by word of mouth. Turns out, a lot of people wanted gear made for their body, their aesthetic, and their scene too.
Today I specialize in custom-fit harnesses, jockstraps, playroom gear, and accessories — each piece built to order, finished on you, and made to last. The process is personal by design: we talk, we measure, we build, and then you come back to the studio so I can finish the fit directly on your body. Come in and try some things on. Good leather outlasts trends, fast fashion, and poor decisions. I build gear meant to be worn hard, used often, and kept for years — not replaced when the next shiny thing shows up.

Most gear is made for a size. This is made for a person. Every commission is built from scratch — your measurements, your hardware, your vision. Nothing leaves the studio any other way.

The Design
Before I cut a single piece of leather, we've already worked out every detail — style, hardware, fit, finish. No guesswork. No surprises. Just a clear vision and the craft to execute it.
The Making
Every piece is cut, glued, stitched, and assembled by hand to your measurements. Then you come back — and we build it on the body where it belongs. The fun part.
The Delivery
After the fitting, most pieces are ready the following day. You come back, try it on one last time, and walk out with gear made exactly for you.
